Unique Manuka Factor Honey Association’s UMF grading system measures the signature compounds that since has proven to be found in genuine Mānuka honey from New Zealand.

The UMF grading system has two components which are expressed on any UMF honey product: the label and the number. The label claims that is genuine Mānuka honey. The number represents the unique signature compounds characteristic of this honey which ensure purity and quality. These include: the key markets of Leptosperin, DHA and Methylglyoxal.
